Our Story: From Small KL Workshop to Trusted Fleet Partner

Sin Foong Hin was founded in Kuala Lumpur more than half a century ago, at a time when Malaysia’s roads were busy with timber lorries, small traders’ vans, and long-distance buses connecting towns across the country. What began as a modest family workshop serving neighbourhood businesses quickly became a trusted name among lorry drivers and fleet owners who needed one thing above all else: a repair partner they could rely on.

In those early years, our founders built their reputation the traditional way — by working long hours at the pit, solving difficult breakdowns that others turned away, and standing behind every repair. Word spread along the transport routes into and out of Kuala Lumpur, and soon Sin Foong Hin became the go-to workshop for commercial vehicles that carried goods, building materials, and everyday essentials throughout the Klang Valley and beyond.

Over the decades, the types of vehicles on Malaysian roads have changed, but our commitment has not. From classic diesel lorries to today’s electronic, computer-managed trucks and commercial vans, we have continuously upgraded our tools, training, and diagnostic capabilities. Generations of mechanics have come through our doors, learning from senior craftsmen who treat every engine, gearbox, and braking system with the same care they would give their own vehicles.

Today, Sin Foong Hin supports both large fleets and individual owners, handling everything from routine servicing and safety inspections to complex engine overhauls and accident repairs. Many of our customers have stayed with us for decades, trusting us to keep their lorries, vans, and cars roadworthy so their businesses can run smoothly. We see ourselves not just as a workshop, but as a long-term partner to the transport and logistics community that keeps Kuala Lumpur moving.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long has Info Ong Hin been operating?

Info Ong Hin has been serving lorry, truck, and van owners in Kuala Lumpur for over a decade. From our workshop at 12, Jalan Gelang, 55200 Kuala Lumpur, we have grown through word-of-mouth referrals, long-term fleet contracts, and repeat customers who value consistent workmanship.

What experience and qualifications does your team have?

Our technicians bring 10–20 years of hands-on experience each in diesel engines, heavy-vehicle drivetrains, and commercial fleet maintenance. Many started as apprentices in lorry workshops and have progressed to senior technician and foreman roles, combining real-world problem solving with up-to-date technical knowledge.

What makes Info Ong Hin different from other workshops?

We focus specifically on commercial vehicles and lorries, so our tools, diagnostic equipment, and parts stock are all tailored for heavy-duty work. Customers appreciate our clear explanations, upfront estimates, and the way we prioritise getting vehicles safely back on the road as quickly as possible without cutting corners.

What are your operating hours?

Our regular operating hours are Monday to Saturday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. For fleet customers and breakdowns, we can arrange after-hours support by appointment, so it is best to call ahead to confirm availability before bringing in your vehicle.

Can I trust your team with my vehicle?

Yes. We treat every vehicle as if it were our own, using proper safety procedures, torque specifications, and quality parts. Many of our customers leave their vehicles with us while they work, knowing that our team will keep them updated, get approval for any additional repairs, and return the vehicle clean and road-ready.

What certifications or training do your mechanics have?

Our mechanics hold recognised Malaysian automotive qualifications and regularly attend manufacturer and distributor training on diesel systems, electronic diagnostics, and safety inspections. We also conduct in-house training to ensure our team stays current with new lorry models, emission standards, and workshop best practices.
